ServiceM8 remains the cheap flat-rate job app for iPhone tradies: Free $0 / Starter $29 / Growing $79 incl GST with unlimited paid users. Quoting and the dispatch board are on every plan; SWMS/forms wait until Growing; job profitability waits until Premium. Tradify is $48/$52/$61 per user ex GST on iOS and Android. Fergus Essentials is $53 and Pro $77 per user. ServiceM8 is not AU-only hosted. Android-only crews should look elsewhere.

Accept contactless credit card payments directly on your iPhone with no additional hardware required. Clients tap their card or phone on your iPhone to pay on the spot. AI-powered assistants help write professional quotes, job notes, and customer communications. AI Report Helper generates custom business reports from natural language questions about your job data. - Two-Way Accounting Sync
Native integration with Xero, MYOB (Business Lite through AccountRight Premier), and QuickBooks Online. Invoices approved in ServiceM8 automatically appear in your accounting software. Payments sync both ways — pay an invoice in Xero and it updates in ServiceM8 within 30 minutes. Tax rates and income account codes are imported automatically, eliminating double entry.
- Automated SMS Workflows
Send automatic on-the-way alerts, booking confirmations, quote follow-ups, and payment reminders via SMS. Two-way SMS messaging lets clients reply directly. Included SMS credits range from 100 (Starter) to 3,000 (Premium Plus) per month, with additional SMS at 10¢ each. Branded SMS available on Growing plan and above.

Create custom electronic forms, compliance certificates, and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) that field staff complete on their iPhone during jobs. Supports photo attachments, electronic signatures, barcode scanning, and PDF annotation. Completed forms are stored against the job record and can be emailed to clients automatically.
