Pros & Cons
Pros
- Unique volume-based pricing charges by emails sent, not contacts stored — dramatically cheaper for businesses with large contact databases and moderate sending frequency
- Free plan supports up to 100,000 contacts (vs Mailchimp's 250 and MailerLite's 500), making it the most generous contact-based free tier in the market
- Multi-channel marketing (email + SMS + WhatsApp) in a single platform eliminates tool sprawl and provides unified customer profiles
- Built-in CRM included on all plans, including the free tier — competitors charge extra or don't offer CRM functionality
- Transactional email and SMS capabilities alongside marketing campaigns, reducing the need for separate services like SendGrid or Postmark
- ISO 27001:2022 certified with EU-based data hosting and GDPR/CASL/CCPA compliance framework
- Pay-as-you-go credit option with non-expiring credits for businesses with irregular sending patterns
- AI content generator (Aura AI) available on all plans to assist with email copywriting
Cons
- USD-only pricing with no AUD option — Australian bill amounts fluctuate with exchange rates and may incur bank cross-border fees
- All data hosted in EU (France, Germany, Belgium) — no Australian data centre for businesses requiring local data sovereignty
- Phone support restricted to Professional plan ($499 USD/month) — a very high price floor for small businesses needing voice support
- Starter plan includes Brevo branding on emails, and removing it costs an additional $10 USD/month — competitors include logo-free emails on entry paid plans
- No direct Xero or MYOB integration — requires Zapier or Make middleware, adding cost and complexity for AU accounting workflows
- Free plan limited to 300 emails per day (9,000/month equivalent) — lower email volume than MailerLite's 12,000/month free tier
- Email support on lower tiers has 24-48 hour response times with no live chat option — slow for urgent issues

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Brevo offer Australian pricing in AUD?
No. Brevo prices all plans in USD with no AUD option. Australian users are billed in USD and their bank converts to AUD at the prevailing exchange rate. At approximately 1.58 AUD/USD (March 2026), the Starter plan costs roughly A$14.22/month and the Standard plan roughly A$28.44/month for 5,000 emails. Your bank may charge cross-border transaction fees on top of the conversion.
How does Brevo's pricing model differ from Mailchimp and other competitors?
Brevo charges based on the number of emails you send per month, not the number of contacts in your list. This is fundamentally different from Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, ActiveCampaign, and MailerLite, which all charge based on subscriber count. Brevo's free plan allows up to 100,000 contacts (vs Mailchimp's 250), making it dramatically cheaper for businesses with large but infrequently-emailed contact databases.
Is Brevo compliant with Australia's Spam Act 2003?
Brevo provides built-in compliance tools including mandatory unsubscribe links, consent-based list management, automatic bounce and unsubscribe processing, and sender identification. The platform is GDPR and CASL compliant, which provides a strong baseline for Spam Act compliance. However, Brevo does not hold specific Australian Spam Act certification — compliance responsibility ultimately rests with the sender to ensure campaigns meet all Spam Act 2003 requirements.
Where does Brevo store my data?
Brevo uses a hybrid hosting model with on-premise servers at OVH in France (primary) and Germany, plus cloud storage on Google Cloud Platform in Belgium. All hosting is within the EU. Data is replicated at least three times across two or more geographic locations and encrypted before cloud storage. There is no Australian data centre option, so businesses requiring local data sovereignty cannot use Brevo.
Does Brevo integrate with Xero or MYOB?
Brevo does not offer direct integrations with Xero or MYOB. Both connections require middleware like Zapier or Make to sync contacts and data between platforms. Direct integrations are available for Shopify, WooCommerce, and WordPress. This is a common gap among email marketing platforms — none of the major competitors (Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, MailerLite) offer direct MYOB integration either.
What happened to Sendinblue? Is Brevo the same product?
Sendinblue rebranded to Brevo in May 2023. It is the same company, same platform, and same team — only the name changed. The rebrand reflected the company's evolution from a simple email newsletter tool (founded 2012) into a comprehensive multi-channel CRM and marketing platform. All existing Sendinblue accounts, data, and features were preserved in the transition.
