# Xero AU public-workflow observations

Observed: 2026-09-11, Australia/Sydney
Method: browser observation of publicly accessible pages on the official Australian Xero site.
Not: a logged-in SoftwareHQ account, a trial, a purchase, a pay run, or a timed usability test.

## Buyer questions

1. **What is the standard Australian price?**
Found. Plan cards print an introductory monthly figure and a **Then $… per month** standard figure. On 11 Sep 2026 those Then-prices were Ignite **$37** (simpler-business page), Grow **$78**, Comprehensive **$107**, Ultimate 10 **$143**. The default pricing-plans grid showed Grow / Comprehensive / Ultimate 10; Ignite was on https://www.xero.com/au/pricing-plans/simple-business/. Offer terms: prices are AUD and include GST.

2. **What is the billed term?**
Found, with a poorly labelled FAQ. Offer terms: “Xero subscriptions auto-renew monthly until they are cancelled.” The FAQ **Can I pay the subscription annually?** expands to monthly invoice timing and does not describe an annual SKU. That question/answer pair is ambiguous; it is not a yes.

3. **What are the renewal / promotion conditions?**
Found, and conflicting. The same AU pages advertised **90% off the first 3 months** (code DC9032619AU, first organisation on xero.com, until 11:59pm AEST 30 September 2026; excludes add-ons, usage and payment fees; then regular monthly auto-renew) **and** a **Get one month free** / $0 first-month CTA. Checkout was not started, so which offer a new customer actually receives is unresolved.

4. **What payroll / people-paid cap applies to a small team?**
Found on comparison tables. Simpler-business: Ignite **1 person**, Grow **2 people**. Main compare table: Grow **2**, Comprehensive **5**, Ultimate 10 **10**. Offer terms warn of extra charges above included people paid. The Ignite plan page describes payroll and links to Grow without reprinting “1 person”. A five-person employer is the Comprehensive published cap, not Grow. This is published copy, not a live pay run.

5. **Where are cancellation and export documented?**
Found without login. AU plan pages: “Cancel with one month’s notice.” Xero Central **Cancel your Xero subscription** (https://central.xero.com/0/article/Cancel-a-subscription): trial can be cancelled immediately; paid organisations have a one-month notice period and remain billed during it. **About exporting data out of Xero**: export from individual areas and reports, not a single full-database dump; export before cancelling. In-app Subscription and billing was not opened. `/au/signup/` redirected to the pricing page; no form was filled.

Ambiguity to leave unresolved: Ignite **Enter 5 bills** on the simpler-business table vs no numeric bill cap on the Ignite plan page.
