# MYOB AU public-workflow observations

Observed: 2026-09-11, Australia/Sydney
Method: browser observation of publicly accessible pages on the official Australian MYOB site.
Not: a logged-in SoftwareHQ account, a trial, a purchase, a pay run, or a timed usability test.

## Buyer questions

1. **What is the standard Australian price?**
Found. Plan cards print an introductory figure and an **after offer period** standard figure. On 11 Sep 2026 those standard figures were Solo **$99/year**, Lite **$315/year** (yearly toggle; **$35/month** on the 1 March 2026 price-update table), Pro **$70/month**, AccountRight Plus **$165/month**, AccountRight Premier **$210/month** (price-update table and Premier card after-offer), Payroll Only **$15/month**. Subscribe URL for Pro without a marketing promo-code parameter printed **$70.00 AUD/month (inc. GST)**. The default Accounting grid hid Payroll Only behind a tab. Sticky bar **From $1/month, billed yearly** was also on the pricing page — left unresolved against Solo **$12/year** intro / **$99/year** after.

2. **What is the billed term?**
Found. Cards toggle **Monthly** and **Yearly**; Lite defaulted to yearly, Pro and Plus to monthly. MYOB Business Terms of Use (overview, visible without login): sign up on a **rolling monthly** basis or a **rolling 12 month** term; the subscription **rolls over automatically** unless notice is given **at least 10 days** before the end of the current period. Pricing FAQ lists “Is there a minimum subscription period?”. Headless expansion of that FAQ was unreliable; the terms page is the billed-term source we actually read in the viewport.

3. **What are the renewal / promotion conditions?**
Found, and conflicting. Pricing footnotes (same `/au/pricing` URL): Solo **$12 (inc. GST)** first 12 months yearly, ends 15 January 2027; Lite **70% off** an initial 12-month base subscription; Pro **70% off** for 6 months after a 14-day free trial; Plus and Premier **60% off** for 3 months after a 14-day trial; Payroll Only **$2/month (inc. GST)** for 3 months. Lite legal terms (https://www.myob.com/au/legal/70-off-lite-annual-2025-26) add a **25% ongoing discount after the first 12 months until cancelled**, which the Lite card’s **$315/year after offer period** does not print. Offers are base-subscription only; payroll/inventory/payments extra. Checkout was not started, so which offer a new customer actually receives is unresolved.

4. **What payroll / employee cap applies to a small team?**
Found on the compare table and plan copy. Solo: payroll **—**. Lite: **$3/month per employee, up to 2 employees**. Pro: **$3/month per employee, unlimited employees**. Plus: payroll ticked (included). Payroll Only: **up to 4 employees**. Help page **Payroll limits and fees**: unique employees paid per calendar month; some plans charge a fee per employee paid; example limit of **two employees per month**. Variable payroll fees **do not apply to AccountRight Plus or Premier** (price-update page). A five-person employer is **not** Lite (2) and **not** Payroll Only (4); it matches Pro + $3×5 or Plus included payroll. This is published copy, not a live pay run.

5. **Where are cancellation and export documented?**
Found without login, and conflicting. Help **Cancelling your MYOB subscription**: only the **primary contact** can cancel; expanded “How to cancel” says **call 1300 940 281** (9am–5pm AEST, Monday–Friday). Terms: **10 days’ notice** before period end; cancel from **My Account** or support; **30-day Data Extraction Period** after termination. Pricing FAQ heading asks about a minimum period / lock-in. Those three public claims were not reconciled because My Account was not opened. Export: a guessed `/settings/importing-and-exporting-data/` URL **404’d**; the working public article is **Importing and exporting data** and **Export for accountants** (settings ⚙️ → Import and export data → Export → Data for your accountant). Actual export was not performed. Subscribe URL was opened; **no email was entered and Continue was not clicked**.

Ambiguity to leave unresolved: Lite card **$315/year after offer** vs Lite terms **25% ongoing**; sticky **$1/month** vs Solo **$12 / $99**; cancel-anytime FAQ vs 10-day terms vs phone-only help; Pro marketing **$21/month** intro vs subscribe URL **$70** without the promo-code parameter.
